New Dash
Next stage in the bike improvements was the adding of an Touratech bike computer with integrated speedo, rev counter, various temp & elec. gauges and trip, also a road book holder (for those foriegn rallies, hah!) and a GPS mount.

Some of the Touratech bits.

The half finished mount, the standard Cagiva dash was dispensed with and replaced with a cut down Africa Twin dashboard conversion. This required extra plates welding in to make it fit and for strength.

Another shot, the black plate is the aluminium plate supplied in the conversion to replace the dashboard, that is rubber mounted, by me, on to the original Elefant frame. The small plate held on with cap screws will be welded to the small ally plate bolted to the new dashboard.

The new plates ready for welding in.

The new mount with ICO and roadbook attached. New GPS mount also bolted to new Renthal handlebars.

The speedo sensor attach to the WP forks.

New dash means a new screen to make room. I drew up a shape for a new screen leaning further forward. Here it is cut out of lexan ready for bending. I used a heat gun to soften, started the bend on a round wooden mallet (it was the right shape), then bolted it in place and heated it to get the final shape.

New screen bolted in place, unpainted.

The screen primed, ready for a coat of white.

I also got new graphics laser cut from vinyl to suit the new screen.
